word slam (1)

Broadway Boogie Woogie by Piet Mondrian, 1943

I am sure it must be at least a hundred year-old cliché to write about her... but what would I say to tell New York how much I love her? Something that drums at her rhythm, that emphasized her sensual textures. Some tale about her contrasts. I would start with this.

Urban patchwork

The underground veins of the metropolis
carry
cells of
multiple sides
views and stories

that colonize the beating heart
of Manhattan
A tissue, a fabric.

Curled backs and high heels
sandy skins, dark eyes
blue long hair floating
as the car passes by.

Highspeed
Flashlight

It is a game o' mirrors
glittering
bright,

It reflects
shapes, colors, faces
onto landscapes
of skyscrapers
and crimson brownstones,

this is the place
I now call home.

An anthem to diversity
witness to humanity
this is
the big City.

Cycling weathers

I
nterrogações

O teu coração, está como água nos canais congelado?

Tens-me dentro dele?

como gelo

como sólida

pedra

Quão quente é?

A luz da esperança e do desejo

Quão rápido será Primavera outra vez?
